Suffolk man dead in NN shooting

A Suffolk man is dead following a shooting late Tuesday in Newport News.

Angel Luis Alicea III, 28, whose last known address is the 400 block of Sycamore Street in Suffolk, died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, according to a news release from Newport News Police Department’s public information officer, Lou Thurston.

The report of the shooting came in at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to the release. Police and medics responded to the intersection of Crutchfield and Ruston drives and found Alicea lying in the street. They transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased just after midnight.

Investigators have very little information and no suspect information at this time, according to the release.
