A Suffolk man was arrested Friday on two charges stemming from a January traffic stop.

Quentonio Deondra Thomas, 21, is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, city spokesman Tim Kelley said.

The traffic stop happened on Jan. 31 on U.S. Route 58, Kelley said. The officer allegedly smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. One of the four occupants was 17 years old.

The grand jury indicted Thomas on the charges in July.
