Derrick DeVonne Foster, 40, of 2433 Shamrock Garden Road, Chesapeake, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. He was a native of Isle of Wight County and the son of Alice B. Foster and the late Fred Skeeter.

He was a graduate of Nansemond River High School and received an associate degree in education. He was currently employed as a lead supervisor at Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center. Derrick was a member of Gates of Heaven COGIC.

He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Kayla D. Aldegon, of Chesapeake; two sisters, Jacqueline Thompson (Mark) and Alicia Hale (Felton), both of Suffolk; three brothers, Alexander Foster (Gwen), Walter Foster (Ronelle) and Troy Parrish, all of Suffolk; a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gates of Heaven COGIC officiated by Sylvester Silver. Interment will be in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery. A wake will be held Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 510 York St., Suffolk. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
