Lady Saints dominate Southampton

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy field hockey team left Courtland on Thursday with a 7-0 blowout win against host Southampton High School.

Sarah Higinbotham assisted goals by Jessie Lerner and Morgan Morrell to help the Lady Saints create a 2-0 lead in the first half, but then the visitors broke things open in the second half.

Lerner scored three more goals and added an assist, Morrell added another goal and Haley Hemmis also scored. Higinbotham made it three assists for the game while Paige Christiansen and Tori Psimas also provided assists.

NSA had seven penalty corners compared to the Lady Indians’ one.

Southampton’s goalies had a combined 11 saves.

Nansemond-Suffolk (3-1-1) ends a busy week by hosting Northampton High School today at 4 p.m.
