CARRSVILLE — Mildred Hedgepeth Darden, 96, widow of John Watkins Darden, passed away Sept. 10, 2014, at her home.

She had retired as a newspaper carrier for the Suffolk News-Herald after 18 years of service. She was also predeceased by one daughter, Betty Jane Darden; two stepsons, George Darden and William Edward Darden; two sisters and seven brothers.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev. Micah Voight officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday (today) at the funeral home. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
