Lakeland defeats King’s Fork on the course

The Lakeland High School golf team registered a 404-433 victory over King’s Fork High School on Wednesday at Bide-A-Wee Golf Course.
The Cavaliers were led in scoring by Jack Boswell, who shot a 94. The remaining Lakeland golfers were all within a few strokes of each other, as Blake Bullock shot a 102, Blake Harris hit a 103 and James Whitley produced a 105.
The Bulldogs’ Will Crow was the medalist of the match with an 84. KF’s Stephen Shaffer contributed a 103, Tyler Branch hit a 120 and Noah Rose shot a 126.
Lakeland closes out its regular season on Tuesday against Nansemond River High School at Sleepy Hole Golf Course. King’s Fork readies for the Ironclad Conference tournament on Sept. 29 and 30 in Newport News.
