The Suffolk Nansemond-Historical Society will hold a presentation by Civil War author Brian Steel Wills on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Lake Prince Woods, 100 Anna Goode Way.

Wills, a Suffolk native, will speak about Confederate general William Dorsey Pender, who was in Suffolk in the early war years.

Wills is director of the Center for the Study of the Civil War Era and a history professor at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga. He is the author of numerous works about the Civil War.
