WALDORF, Md. — James Ralph Hayslett, of Waldorf, Md., entered into eternal rest and peace on Oct. 9, 2014, at his residence in Waldorf.  He was a native of Nansemond County and son of the late Clinton A. and Ruth E. Hayslett. He was also preceded in death by his son, Kevin Scott, and brother, Clinton Hayslett.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, one daughter, Deandria Cumberbatch (Lawrence), of Waldorf, Md.; one son, Ronald Saunders, of Suitland, Md.; one sister, Pearlie Hayslett Blanks (Albert), of Suffolk; two brothers, Joe L. Hayslett and Ed L. Hayslett, of Suffolk; two grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at Balm of Gilead Baptist Church, 3731 White Marsh Road, Suffolk, by Bishop A.S. Hall Sr. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The family will receive visitors at 2509 Woodland Trail. Crocker Funeral Home is serving the family.
