Cotton combine catches fire

A combine caught fire in a cotton field on Sunday afternoon, causing more than $50,000 to the equipment and more damage to the cotton.
The fire was reported at 3:28 p.m., and units arrived on scene seven minutes later ot the field off Holland Road in the 1200 block of Longstreet Lane.
About $1,500 worth of damage to the cotton module was reported, and less than an acre of the cotton field was burned and destroyed. There were no injuries.
One lane of Holland Road eastbound was closed briefly during the incident.
