Madgeline Harris, 92, of Suffolk, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2014, at her residence. She was a native of Suffolk and the daughter of the late Joseph Allen and Josephine Newby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Harris; one son, Will Thomas Hicks.

She retired as a homemaker. Mrs. Harris was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church, where she was the mother of the church and member of the Missionary, Usher and Deaconess ministries.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Ann M. Whitfield, of Suffolk; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at Little Bethel Baptist Church, 6533 Everets Road, Suffolk, officiated by the Rev. Glenn Lyttle Sr. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Chuckatuck. A wake will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at Crocker Funeral Home.
