A taste adventure

A host of eateries across Suffolk have signed on for Restaurant Week from Nov. 8-15, offering something for every taste — even those who like it extra spicy.
A biannual event, Restaurant Week is the result of Suffolk Tourism working with the city’s unique eateries, said Theresa Earles, the city’s tourism development manager.
The aim, Earles said, is to “showcase the city’s signature flavors and encourage diners to try something new, whether it’s a new restaurant or just a new dish at one’s favorite spot.”
New in the sumptuous line-up for this event is Rajput Indian Cuisine.
“Some of their menu options include lamb jalfrezi, shrimp tikka masala and gulab jamun,” Earles said.
The other participating establishments are Al Forno Pizzeria Italian Restaurant, Amici’s Pizza Café, Baron’s Pub, Cedar Point Country Club, Constant’s Wharf Grill (inside the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront), East Coast Taco Company, The Egg Bistro, Garden Grille & Bar (inside the Hilton Garden Inn Chesapeake/Suffolk), George’s Steakhouse, Harper’s Table, Mosaic by Holland’s, Nana Sushi, The Plaid Turnip, River Stone Chophouse, Suffolk BBQ Company and Vintage Tavern.
Restaurant Week gives diners the opportunity to try new tastes for much less than they’d normally pay.
Eateries offer special three-course menus, deluxe at $10 lunch/$20 dinner, or premier at $15 lunch/$30 dinner, in addition to their regular menus.
“I encourage everyone to take advantage of Suffolk Restaurant Week,” Earles said.
“Get out there and try something new or unusual. Discover a new favorite dish.
“One week, 17 restaurants and a multitude of meal combinations — really, what’s not to love?”
