The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ volleyball team kept Hampton Roads Academy at bay during Friday’s conference tournament semifinal, which ended as a 25-14, 25-16, 25-17 win at Norfolk Christian School.

The Lady Saints’ senior middle blockers were wreaking havoc again, as Caylin Harris finished with 12 kills and four blocks while Lizzy Fowler produced 10 kills and two blocks.

NSA sophomore outside hitter Logan Harrell led the defense with 27 digs and also had three aces. Senior setter Brooks Gillerlain poured in 40 assists, also adding three aces.

Nansemond-Suffolk (18-8) played in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools tournament championship game on Saturday evening against Cape Henry Collegiate School. NSA was looking to turn things around against a Lady Dolphins squad that had handed it three losses already this season.
