The resurgent Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ tennis team had little problem advancing past the quarterfinal round of the VISAA Division II state playoffs on Tuesday afternoon.

In part because darkness was approaching, the No. 2 Lady Saints stopped after they got the wins they needed to advance, defeating visiting No. 7 Foxcroft School by a score of 5-0.

“They did really well,” NSA coach Lindsay Raulston said of her players. “We didn’t really know what to expect, because we didn’t have any teams that we have played that Foxcroft has played.”
