A woman was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Saturday morning with injuries that were not thought to be life threatening following a single-vehicle accident on Whaleyville Boulevard.
Police and emergency responders were called to the scene in the 4800 block of Whaleyville Boulevard at 10:32 a.m. and arrived four minutes later to find a 2008 Honda Civic that had run off the road and hit a tree head on, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink.
A 25-year-old woman was the only occupant of the vehicle, Klink stated in a press release.
After assessing the woman’s injuries, rescue personnel took her by ambulance to the Norfolk hospital, where she was being treated early Saturday afternoon.
The road was briefly closed while emergency workers cleared the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
