‘Worst roads I’ve ever seen’

To the editor:

I’ve lived in California, Florida and now North Carolina — in Corapeake, off Route 32.

I travel two days a week on Route 32 into Suffolk. Highway 32 is a very dangerous road to begin with. Speeding is out of sight, and I see cars and trucks pass me, crossing over the double solid line at 70 to 75 miles an hour, all the time. I rarely ever see a vehicle going the speed limit.

The road is deadly dangerous.

But I’ve noticed that the road is not just dangerous, it’s also torn up everywhere, with holes, potholes and broken pavement everywhere. This road is the worst road I’ve seen in my 64 years of life.

What happened to the part of the road that has not yet been paved? I see that only about 20 percent of it has been paved.

Virginia — mainly Suffolk and Portsmouth — has the worst roads I’ve ever seen.
