Saundra Ann Cooper, 64 of 11423 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Riverside Regional Hospital.

She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Richard A. Williams, Sr. and Willie Mary Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orus Cooper.

She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Saundra was employed with city of Newport News.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Tony L. Green (Renika); stepfather, Rudolph V. Cross Sr.; one sister, Sheryl Hutchinson; three brothers, Richard A. Williams Jr. (Cathy), Rudolph V. Cross Jr. (Phyliss) and Miles A. Cross (Mary); four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at Morning Star Baptist Church, Windsor, officiated by Suffragan Bishop Madison Copeland. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.

A visitation with the family will be held Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at Crocker Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. The family will also receive friends at 212 Bute St., Suffolk. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
