SCA widens gap against Victory Christian

The Suffolk Christian Academy boys’ basketball team defeated Victory Christian School for the second time this year on Friday, but this time it was not nearly as close. After the Knights won 93-90 in November, they ran away with an 80-40 win this time around.
SCA benefited from getting more players involved, and on defense, it was aggressive after having stayed out of foul trouble. Michael Cornette starred on defense, limiting Victory Christian’s highest scorer.
Cornette also scored 17 points for the Knights. Steven Effler led them with 20 points while Barton Metzgar scored 10, as did Nathan Leiter, who also did well distributing the ball.
Suffolk Christian (3-3, 1-1) played again on Saturday afternoon.
