Toddler struck by car

A toddler struck by a car on Wednesday morning is being treated at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to a city press release.
It happened about 8:31 a.m. at Heritage Acres Apartments in the 1000 block of Nansemond Parkway.
The 3-year-old boy was standing just off the curb with his mother when he was struck by the front bumper of the vehicle, according to the release.
The driver, Tierra Johnson, 26, of Suffolk, was issued a summons for reckless driving.
