One dead in accident

One person died in a three-vehicle accident on Pruden Boulevard Friday evening.
The accident happened at 5:35 p.m. in the 4800 block at the intersection with Old Myrtle Road, according to a city press release.
Two victims were transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where one later died as a result of injuries suffered in the accident. The other person suffered injuries that are considered serious.
The victim of the fatality has been identified as 38-year-old Michele Acree of Windsor, according to a city press release. The other victim is Curtis Grant, 25, of Suffolk, who was listed in stable but serious condition at Norfolk General around midnight.
The driver of the third vehicle refused medical assessment and treatment at the scene, according to the release.
All lanes of the road were shut down for some time, with traffic alternating after that for several hours. The accident is under investigation.
