King’s Fork High School’s girls’ basketball team achieved a 51-33 win over host Lakeland High School on Tuesday, and in doing so, gave its coach, Maurice Fofana, his 100th career win.
“It felt good,” he said. “A lot of kids contributed to me getting that, so it’s more of me having some good kids and good teams than it is just me. It’s a great milestone for me, and I just look forward to being able to keep going.”
Fofana is in his sixth year as coach of the Lady Bulldogs.
King’s Fork sophomore Amesha Miller recorded 21 points and 14 rebounds on Tuesday.
The Lady Bulldogs (6-1, 1-0) host Nansemond River High School (6-1, 1-0) this evening.
