Albert Eugene Moore

Albert Eugene Moore, 75, of Suffolk, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Dec. 16, 2014. He was born on Sept. 18, 1939, in Winfall, N.C. to the late Alton and Ona Moore. He was also predeceased by an infant brother, Alton Ray Moore Jr. Albert served as a firefighter for over 25 years. He attended Community Baptist Church.

Albert enjoyed freshwater fishing throughout the lakes of Suffolk. He was also a diehard Yankees fan and watched their games every chance he got.

Albert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Phyllis B. Moore; daughter, Betty M. Rhodes and husband, Robert, of Suffolk; sister-in-law, Pauline Winslow and husband, Larry, of Chesapeake; brothers-in-law, Leroy Byrum and wife, Merle, Jerry Byrum and wife, Joyce, of Tyner, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Bill and Larry.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with the Rev. David Nicholes officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Walker and the doctors and staff of Virginia Oncology. Special appreciation also goes to Dawn, Jessica and Terri of Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
