Connie Patricia Drayton, 69, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Nov. 5, 1945, to the late Preston Davis and Beatrice Ford in Suffolk.

She attended East Suffolk High School and worked at Lipton Tea Company for 18 years.

She was a member of New Mt. Joy Church, where she served diligently and faithfully as the president of the Hospitality Committee, member of the Senior Choir and W.P. Wiggins Gospel.

She was preceded in death by two children, Vicki and Rodney “Rock” Drayton, and two sisters, Sandra Davis and Virginia Jones.

Connie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Darryl Davis, Kevin Drayton (Cheryl), Robert Drayton Jr. (Cynthia), Lisa Allmond (Dwayne), Mechelle Drayton, Andria Hicks (Fred), Andre Drayton Sr. (Ebony); stepchildren, Eugene Boone (Amy) and Jonathan Saunders (Niecy); siblings, Brenda Johnson (James), Preston Davis (Connie), Annette Beale; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends.

Ms. Drayton will be on view from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and a wake service will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., on Sunday at the funeral home. A home going service will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday at New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministries Church, and she will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
