Esther L. Ricks, 102, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Nansemond Pointe. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Sarah Ricks.

Miss Ricks was a member of East End Baptist Church, where she found great joy with a circle of friends fondly named The Golden Girls.

She is survived by a nephew, Lafayette Sessoms, of Washington, D.C., caregivers Dr. and Mrs. Bernard Glover, and other relatives and friends.

A special thanks is extended to the staff of Nansemond Pointe.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Carver Memorial Cemetery by Dr. Wayne D. Faison.
