Woman seeks lost ring

A Suffolk mother of five is devastated after she lost a diamond ring that was a Christmas gift from her husband and children.
Tesha Young is sure she lost the ring on the playground at Lake Meade Park. She had it in the front pocket of a hoodie, because she had washed her car before she arrived at the park.
Now she’s kicking herself for not putting it back on when she felt it in her pocket.
“I knew it was in my pocket, but I just did not put it back on,” she said. “I don’t know what I was thinking. I have been beating myself up over it.”
Young said she picked out the ring at a pawn shop prior to Christmas.
“I have five kids, so I don’t really get a lot for myself often,” she said.
The day after Christmas, she took her kids to the playground. It was a pretty day.
“There were quite a few people there,” she said.
She surmises the ring may have come out of her pocket when she pulled her keys out of the same pocket. She has returned to the park three times but has not found the ring.
“I’m pretty sure, if it’s not kicked down into the ground somewhere, then someone picked it up,” she said.
Young is working with someone she found on Facebook to borrow a metal detector to help with the search.
The ring is gold and has a cluster of diamonds in an oval shape. Young said she’s offering a reward because of its sentimental value.
“It was my Christmas present from my kids and their dad,” she said. “If you have it, just give it back. I know we still have some honesty in the world.”
Whoever finds the ring is asked to call Young at 478-4358.
