Joseph S. Corbett

SUFFOLK — Joseph Samuel Corbett died on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, in King George. He was 87. He was the son of the late Mattie White and Joseph Samuel Corbitt. He was also predeceased by his wife, Jane Cherry Corbett.

Joseph was an Army veteran who served in World War II and was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church in Suffolk and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Fredericksburg.

He is survived by his daughters, Gay Simpson and husband, Bran, of Fredericksburg, and Debbie Martin, of Suffolk; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, 1421 Shoulders Hill Road, Suffolk.
