Cadet of the Month is selected by a board of cadet officers and approved by the Offices of the Commandant, JRTOC, Headmaster and Superintendent of the school. The Cadet of the Month is selected based upon his academic, military and community achievements throughout the previous month.

Cadets earning this award enjoy a three-day weekend pass, a special dinner, 10 commandment merits and the right to wear the special Cadet of the Month shoulder cord.

“This young man has shown tremendous growth and leadership potential over the course of the last month,” said Col. Gary R. Morrison, Fishburne Military School’s superintendent and a 1981 alumnus of the school. “His efforts should serve as an example to all of us that hard work and focus are the true keys to success. Congratulations to Mr. Owens, his instructors and his family for a job extremely well done.”
