Mr. Tyrone Lovell “Doolie” Harris, 44, departed this earthly life on Dec. 28, 2014, in Gainesville, Ga.

He was the son of Ms. Queen Ratcliff and the late Arlester Ratcliff Jr. He was a 1988 graduate of John Yeates High School. Shortly after graduation, he entered the military for four years, where he was honorably discharged. Besides his mother, Tyrone leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Shaniqua R. Harris, a son Tyrique I. Harris, and a stepdaughter Zoria A. Baker. He also leaves a brother, Arlester Ratcliff III, of Suffolk; four uncles, Roy Harris (Rose), of Richmond, Charles Harris and Ocie Harris, of Suffolk, and Elbert Harris (Rosa), of Portsmouth; one aunt, Evelyn Everette (Johnnie), of Alexandria; three great-aunts, Ruth Johnson, of Suffolk, Isabella Williams and Ruby Johnson, of Jamaica, N.Y., and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Laurel Hill United Church of Christ, 8001 S. Quay Road, Suffolk, by the Rev. Carl Sweat. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Viewing will also be held prior to the service on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. No viewing will be held after the service. The family will receive friends at 1213 B St., Suffolk. Harris Funeral Home has been entrusted with the home going service.
