Former Nansemond River High School standout basketball player Ashton Moore has continued to shine in his senior season with The Citadel Bulldogs.
He put up a season-high 29 points on Thursday evening in a 69-66 home win over conference rival Wofford College.
Moore, a guard, scored 21 of his points in the second half, and he went 10-for-17 from the field for the game, including 6-for-10 from three-point range. He also contributed four rebounds, four assists and a steal.
The victory lifted the Bulldogs to 8-9 overall and brought them back to .500 in the Southern Conference with a 3-3 record.
Earlier this season, Moore became the 31st basketball player in Bulldogs history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark in his Citadel career.
The Bulldogs took on Furman University on Saturday at 1 p.m. and return to action on Thursday at East Tennessee State University.
