Marshall Odell Wellons

On the Wings of Love, Marshall Odell Wellons soared like an eagle to his rightful place in God’s kingdom on Jan. 17, 2015.
He began his journey on July 25, 1929, in Ivor. His army career consisted of being stationed from Detroit to Okinawa (Japan), through est Texas, home to Virginia, Hawaii and even a stint in Manhattan. He also served in the Korean War.
Marshall worked many years as a civil service employee at Wallops Island after serving 20 years in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class.
Marshall served as the Post Commander and District Commander of the VFW Post 10048 in Pocomoke, Md. Later, he served as the Past Governor of the Moose Lodge. Marshall retired from Wallops Island and worked at Lusby’s for many years.
Marshall leaves wonderful memories for his loving wife of 20 years, Gwendolyn Wellons; his children — Terence, Pamela, Keith, Kenneth (Ava) and Mark (Kim); two sisters, Beatrice Porter and Esther Evans (Charlie), two stepsons, Maxie and Brent Holden; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven nieces; six nephews; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of family and friends.
