Deacon Timothy Everett, 89, died Jan. 20, 2015, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. He was one of four sons of the late John S. and Annie B. Everett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Odell Everett.

Timothy was a long time member of Canaan Baptist Church. He served in several ministries of the church over the years, such as Sunday School superintendent, church treasurer, chairman of the Deacon Board and trustee of the church. He was active in the community and a member of the local civic league.

He is survived by four daughters, Betty Futrell, Eula Whitehead, Myra Palin (Ernest) and Joyce Flythe (Harvey); three sisters, Thelma Hicks, Dorothy Cohen (William) and Inez Lassiter; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held at noon Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at Canaan Baptist Church, Nansemond Parkway. Interment will be in Canaan Church Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at Crocker Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
