U.S. Air Force Airman Davis J. Berryman graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 9, earning the rank of Airman First Class.

Berryman completed an intensive, eight and a half-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

As a basic military training graduate he also earned credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Reginald and Barbara Berryman, formerly of Suffolk, and is a 2014 graduate of Nansemond River High School.
