The definition of “one-sided” got another illustration on Tuesday evening as Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s girls’ basketball team defeated host Peninsula Catholic High School by the score of 72-18.
All but one member of the Lady Saints scored in the contest. Leading the way was junior point guard Harper Birdsong with 22 points, four assists, four rebounds and three steals and junior center Caroline Hogg with 17 points and five boards.
NSA grabbed 25 steals in the game, led by senior guard Sarah Higinbotham with seven. Sophomore guard Lindsay Knierbein grabbed three, as did sophomore guard Logan Harrell, while junior guard Madi Goldberg and senior forward Chloe Tillman had two apiece.
Nansemond-Suffolk (14-2, 4-0) visits Norfolk Christian School on Thursday.
