Shortly after midnight, an off-duty officer was approached by a victim who said he had been robbed while he was driving in the area of Brookwood Drive. There was no more information available about the incident, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said.

The second incident took place about 1 a.m., Klink said. Employees at the Walmart located in the 6200 block of College Drive told police that a black male entered the store, requested to look at a game system, and then grabbed the system and attempted to leave the store. When confronted, he said he had a gun.

He fled the store and entered a small red SUV that was waiting with at least one other occupant in the parking lot. The model of vehicle is unknown, but the vehicle was missing the back windshield, and the area was covered in plastic.

The man is further described as being in his late 20s to early 30s, 6 feet 2 inches to 6 feet 4 inches, with a thin build, mustache, and a black jacket with white or gray trim and lettering across the front starting with an “R,” a DC ball cap, and black and white sneakers.

In the third robbery, a black woman walked into the BB&T in the 3100 block of Bridge Road at 10:04 a.m. She presented a note demanding money, received an undisclosed amount, and then fled in a black Chevrolet Malibu, according to a city press release. No weapon was displayed.

There were no injuries in any of the robberies.
