Jerry Lee Hunter, 49, of 829 Brooke Ave., Suffolk, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Charlie Lee Hunter and Ruth Ella Hunter.

He attended Suffolk High School. He was a member of New Mount Joy Food for Living Ministries.

He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Angela Freeman, of Suffolk; one son, Jerry Freeman, of Suffolk; four sisters, Joyce Hunter, Tracey Spencer, both of Portsmouth, Sharon Hunter, of Toledo, Ohio, and Retina Hunter, of Portsmouth; four brothers, Charlie S. Hunter, Timothy Hunter, both of Suffolk, Charles Hunter, of Norfolk, and Tony Hunter of Bowie, Md.; other relatives and friends.

A homegoing service was held Friday at New Mount Joy Food for Living Ministries, 307 County St., with Overseer Viola Parker officiating.
