Lady Dolphins fall to NSA

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ basketball team registered an important 49-46 home win over Cape Henry Collegiate School, one of the better teams in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools.

Each team had a dynamic duo that led the way.

Lady Saints junior center Caroline Hogg finished the game with 18 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocked shots, while junior point guard Harper Birdsong produced 18 points, six rebounds and five assists.

For the Lady Dolphins, sophomore guard Kennedy Beale generated 21 points and four boards, while senior guard Angie Williams registered 17 points and eight rebounds.

NSA received a particularly important contribution from sophomore forward Kelly Hogan, who ended up with seven points and 11 rebounds.

The Lady Saints (16-3, 6-1) traveled to Richmond for a non-conference game against Collegiate School on Friday evening. NSA resumes its conference schedule on Tuesday when it visits Walsingham Academy.
