Man charged with indecent exposure

A Suffolk man was arrested after allegedly exposing himself to students riding a school bus on Friday.

According to a city news release, the school district’s transportation department called police dispatchers at 8:16 a.m., after a bus driver reported the alleged incident.

She had been advised that an adult male had exposed himself to her students in the area of Hawk Lane and Wren Road.

The bus was traveling to King’s Fork High School.

Police located and arrested Seth Orlando Copeland, 57, after the students provided a description.

The students were between 14 and 16 years of age, and Copeland was charged with six counts of indecent exposure, based on the number of students on the bus, and two counts of indecent liberties with a child, based on the age of two of the students.

Copeland is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
