Two hospitalized after crash

Two young men were hospitalized with serious injuries after an accident at the intersection of Glen Haven and Elwood roads on Monday evening.
The accident happened at 9:24 p.m. and involved a Corvette and a GMC pickup, according to a city press release. The GMC overturned as a result of the accident.
The 22-year-old male passenger in the Corvette suffered injuries that were considered life-threatening and was airlifted by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The 23-year-old male passenger in the pickup suffered serious injuries and was taken by ground ambulance to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
The road was closed briefly as workers investigated and cleaned up the accident. Suffolk Fire and Rescue was assisted at the scene by Carrsville Volunteer Fire Department and Isle of Wight Emergency Services, according to the press release.
