The male driver of a pickup truck that overturned on Godwin Boulevard Friday evening was sent to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The accident happened at 6:33 p.m., according to a city press release. The full-size Chevrolet pickup overturned in the 3400 block.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue personnel had to extricate the driver, according to the press release.

Both southbound lanes were closed following the accident, and one southbound lane was opened while the investigation continued.
