SUFFOLK — Marie Riddick Pearce, 86, passed away April 6, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Bennie Lee Riddick and Ophelia B. Brown. She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Burton Pearce Sr.

Marie was a member of Whaleyville United Methodist Church and retired from Suffolk City Schools.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Charlotte Boyette and David, of Windsor, and Sharon P. Pierce and James, of Massanutten; a son and daughter-in-law, Burt Pearce Jr. and Karen, of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Amy King and husband, Matt, Lisa Cale and husband, Scott, and Bryan Boyette; three great-grandchildren, Camryn and Brady King and Walker Cale; brother, Mills J. Riddick and wife, Virginia, of Powells Point, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Whaleyville United Methodist Church with Pastor Jack Meservey and her son, Pastor Burt Pearce, officiating. Interment will be in Whaleyville United Methodist Church Cemetery following the service.
