A fire in the 1400 block of Sierra Drive damaged the home of two adults and four children.

The blaze was reported at 12:26 a.m. Thursday, and the first units arrived four minutes later, according to a city news release. Firefighters found a kitchen fire that had extended into the living room area of the single-story home.

The kitchen and living room suffered heavy fire damage, and the remainder of the house had smoke damage.

The occupants were out of town, and a friend was house-sitting, according to the news release.

No firefighters were injured. The cause was ruled accidental.
