SUFFOLK — Peggie Rountree Jones, 85, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Presley L. and Mamie Weaver Rountree. She was also predeceased by her husband, R. Ernest Jones, and a sister, Ruth P. Cutchin.

Peggie was a lifelong resident of Nansemond County, dedicated more than 30 years of employment to Suffolk Public Schools, and was a member of Somerton Friends Meeting.

She is survived by her children, Bert Jones and his wife, Denise, Joanne Gibble and husband, Jay, and Charlotte Hesse and husband, Rich; grandchildren, Jennifer Sneeringer and husband, Donald, Zach Jones, Kate Jones, Ryan Gibble, Heather Lewis and husband, Justin, Emily Hesse and Andy Hesse; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Cooper and Peyton; sister, Doris Glenn.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 11 a.m. at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, with the Rev. Norman March officiating.
