Gloria J. Rodgers, 51, a native of Suffolk, passed away with peace and dignity on Monday, April 20, 2015, at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk. Gloria graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1981. She later attended the School of Fashion and Merchandising in Oakland, Calif. She worked at Eastern Virginia Medical School as a medical record receptionist. She was a member of Grove Baptist Church in Portsmouth, where she sang in the church choir.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, Kim Rodgers; one son, Nikolas Rodgers; her mother, Heloise Bagley; her father, Joe L. Bagley; three brothers, Louis (Shemika) J. Bagley, Tony (Denise) X. Bagley, and Robert Bagley; a mother-in-law, Laura Rodgers; two stepsisters, Regina Artis and Dianne Paul; one brother-in-law, William (Alisa) Rodgers; three uncles, Robert (Emily) Bagley Jr., James (Betty Jean) Bagley, Ray (Marion) Bagley; four aunts, Thelma Bagley,
Ella (Junie) M. Williams, Pernelthia Joyner, and Barbra (Lee) Tappan; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted by Dr. Melvin O. Marriner on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Grove Baptist Church, 5910 W. Norfolk Road, Portsmouth. Per the request of the family of Gloria J. Rodgers, there will be no public viewing. The family will have visitation at 1006 Lake Kennedy Drive, Suffolk.
