Man indicted in fatal crash

A Windsor man has been indicted on charges relating to a Feb. 10 crash on Whaleyville Boulevard that killed a mother and daughter.
Wesley Aaron Johns, 26, is charged with two counts of aggravated manslaughter as well as one count each of texting while driving, fail to obey highway marking, drive while intoxicated, possession of distribution of drug paraphernalia, possession of a gun with a Schedule I or II drug and possession of heroin.
The fatal accident occurred at 8:05 a.m. that Tuesday morning. The head-on crash killed Teresa Brooks Brown, 60, and Bernice Pong Brooks, 84, both of Colerain, N.C. Brown was driving a PT Cruiser, with her mother riding along, while Johns was driving a minivan.
