Man injured in moped crash

Police are investigating a moped accident that sent the rider to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The accident was reported at 1:35 a.m. in the 200 block of Pinner Street. Officers found the 47-year-old male driver face down in the roadway, unconscious but breathing, with injuries to his upper body, according to a city press release. It is believed the driver possibly struck a curb, based on preliminary investigation. He was wearing a helmet.
He was taken by ground ambulance to Sentara Obici Hospital, from where he was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
