Western Branch robberies probed

Chesapeake Police are investigating three robberies in the Western Branch area in which the suspect was described as a black man armed with a handgun and wearing all black.
According to police department spokeswoman Kelly O’Sullivan, the first robbery occurred at 11:15 P.M. Sunday at the Wilco in the 3900 block of Portsmouth Boulevard.
Hit next were the Extended Stay in the 3200 block of Western Branch Boulevard, at 1:05 a.m. Monday, and the 7-Eleven in the same block, 90 minutes later.
“The suspect demanded money and fled on foot,” stated O’Sullivan, referring to all three robberies.
“No injuries were reported. The robberies are currently under investigation.”
