A singing family that starred in a TLC pilot episode called “Home Sweet Bus” last October will be in Suffolk on Saturday night to perform at Bethlehem Christian Church.

Pastor Matt Winters said the ladies of the church put the program together.

The Allen family — parents Todd and Michelle, eight children, a daughter-in-law and twin grandsons — live on their bus 365 days a year and fill more than 275 engagements each year, according to their website. The younger children in the family have never lived off the bus.

“The ladies asked if they could come to Bethlehem” after seeing the TLC pilot, Winters said. “They all sing, they’ll come to your church, they’ll do concerts, they talk about Christ, they play instruments.”

Saturday’s show at the church, 1549 Holland Road, will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.

“Folks are welcome to come if they would like,” Winters said. “It’s a great family event. We’ll have plenty of tickets available, and we’re looking forward to a great night.”

The Allen family has traveled internationally since 1991, according to its website. They finished first in the 2000 National Quartet Convention Talent Search. Since then, the group has two nominations for Singing News New Mixed Group of the Year and multiple appearances on the Southern Gospel Top 80 radio charts.
