Elder Arthur N. Holliman Sr.

Elder Arthur N. Holliman Sr., 86, of 11115 Dunston Drive, Windsor, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at his residence. He was a native of Isle of Wight County and the son of Nonnie Holliman and Mary Bowers Holliman. He was preceded in death by his son, Willie Joe Holliman, and 14 siblings.

He retired from Norfolk and Western Railroad. He was a member of Holy Ground Temple of Deliverance. Elder Holliman was a former pastor of Ivor Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church and Holland Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church; former co-pastor of King’s Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. He played an active role with the Ministerial Board of the Pentecostal Holiness General Union and an active member of the Suffolk Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Virtley O. Holliman; three daughters, Charleine Lassiter (Shelton), Shelia Warren and Ruth Williams, all of Suffolk; four sons, Arthur Holliman Jr., of Suffolk, Jeffery Holliman, of Windsor, Leffery Holliman (Donna), of Suffolk, and Harvey Holliman (Sharon), of Suffolk; raised as his own, Louise Whitehead, Oretha Minggia, William Jordan and Larry Jordan; 24 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Piney Grove Baptist Church officiated by Bishop John H. Kindred and Pastor W. Davis, Eulogist. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. A wake will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Crocker Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
