Tyler Hughes was the pole-sitter for the opening race, at 89.137 mph, and led the first seven circuits. On Lap 8, Berry slipped underneath Hughes at the end of the front stretch and rocketed ahead off Turn 2.

Once out front, Berry widened his margin to better than half a straightaway. Berry’s cruise to the winner’s circle was delayed by a caution flag on Lap 57 and another
on the ensuing restart.

Under green for the final time, he pulled away as Hughes and Edwards jousted for second. At the end of his first Langley outing, Berry was the winner by five lengths over Edwards. Hughes, Matt Waltz and Mark Wertz completed the top five. Points leader Greg Edwards was sidelined after a wreck on Lap 3 and ended up 19th.
In the nightcap, Danny Edwards proved that the old Langley lion still has some bite, as he grabbed the lead from Berry on the start and led all the way. The win was Edwards’ first since April 23, 2011.

Berry matched the leader nearly step for step over the first half of the event. He began to fade in the closing laps, though, and finished more than half a straightaway back.

Greg Edwards turned to his backup car for the second race and sliced through the field for a third-place finish. Queen and Wertz rounded out the top five.
