Sharon LaVerne Rollins, 58, of 90 Dahlgren Avenue, Portsmouth, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 28, 2015, in Maryview Medical Center Hospital, Portsmouth.

She was born April 3, 1957, to the late Fannie L. and Sherman L. Rollins. Sharon was preceded in death by two brothers, Dalton C. Rollins and Darius L. Rollins.

Sharon was a 1975 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and a graduate of Norfolk State University. She was employed by Norfolk Naval Shipyard until her retirement.  Miss Rollins was a member of Faith In God Deliverance Church, located in Suffolk.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three brothers, the Rev. Robert Parker (Rosa), of Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. Douglas L. Rollins (Mary), and Sherman C. Rollins, both of Suffolk; three godsons, Akaron L. Davis, of Bristow, Aaron Holland and Dustin Noack, both of Portsmouth; and other relatives and friends.

Miss Rollins’ visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the family will receive visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, July 6, 2015, at 1 p.m. at T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home Inc., with Apostle Miriam Sherrod officiating. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
