Nansemond River Golf Club’s first time hosting the Virginia State Golf Association Junior Girls Championship featured a dramatic finish in the 16- to 18-year-old flight on Wednesday.

Elizabeth Bose, 17, won her first overall Junior Girls title, and it came via a playoff against 17-year-old Kristin Hearp, who was looking for her second VSGA Junior Girls title after winning the championship last year.

Bose birdied the final hole in the second round to force the playoff. She and Hearp finished the two-day, 36-hole event with twin four-over-par 148 scores. Bose won the playoff on No. 10, needing only a single extra hole of play.
